FAQ
About Sheep Impact
Who or what is Sheep Impact?
We are a family business based out of Morioka, Iwate prefecture. We believe in spreading the greatness of ‘real’ British foods all throughout Japan. See our story, here:
Why did you start Sheep Impact?
For two reasons.
Firstly, because we simply couldn’t source any decent store or shop that sold British Foodstuffs (see 'About Us'). It’s been long overdue, and we plan to help our customers avoid having to scour international food stores and ad-hoc stores to locate that single pack of Maltesers…
Secondly, because we wanted to contribute something to our city of Morioka.
Why Morioka?
Because it’s our home, and because Morioka is a good (and deserving) place to generate a new international-orientated industry.
Store information
What are your opening hours?
Monday to Friday, 09:00 – 18:00 (excl. public holidays)
Can I visit your shop, or pick up my goods in-person?
Unless you live within Morioka city, the answer is currently "No". We are currently an online-only service and do not cater for in-person visits, but we do have plans to open a bricks and mortar store when the conditions and timing are right.
About our products and selection
Do all your goods come from the UK?
Yes. We are aware that there are many British food items on sale and physically in Japan, but that are sourced from Australia, Hong Kong, the Netherlands etc. All products on our website are sourced directly from the UK unless otherwise explicitly specified.
Are your products really in Japan?
Yes! They are here! Whatever can be bought on our website is in stock!
What types of products do you sell?
For now, we’re mostly selling ambient goods, i.e. things that don’t need refrigeration. Our future plans include selling a variety of chilled and frozen goods, in addition to the ambient range.
I really want you to stock <insert your favourite product here!>. Can you start to sell it?
We listen to requests. And we genuinely mean that.
Each item request we receive, we have to weigh up demand vs. cost etc. and whether or not stocking / selling such a product would be viable in the long term, in addition to Japan's food additive regulations. Of course, we want to please as many of our customers as we can, so if we receive a request from you, you may see it being featured in a request survey or other social media post to ‘test the water’.
I think you’re expensive! So, why are you?
Primarily for two reasons; shipping costs and the exchange rate. We are aware that there are plenty of online portals to order your favourite British food stuffs from, but maybe the pricing or delivery times may not be suitable for you. We try our best to strike a balance, and we hope that you will acknowledge the added luxury of knowing that your product is already in Japan, waiting to be shipped to your doorstep!
So, please be reminded that unlike other importers or other food you may see in other random stores around Japan (Cadbury from Australia, Maltesers from Holland, Weetabix from Hong Kong etc.), all our products are sourced from, and directly shipped from the UK.
We try our utmost to keep prices as low as we can, whilst earning enough to make a living and keep this store afloat!
Payment
Can I pay by bank transfer or cash?
We only accept card payments at this time. Cash payments can be made via selected Convenience Store chains (see checkout options for more details).
Why isn't my payment going through?
Please check with your card provider and bank and authorise the payment as necessary.

Do you ship internationally?
We only ship within Japan currently.
Are there any parts of Japan that you do not deliver to.
We currently do not deliver to the Ogasawara islands, including Iwo Jima and any other US / JSDF bases.
However, if you are based in the Ogasawara islands and wish to place an order, please get in contact with us via email. We will assess each order request offline, individually, considering shelf life, travel conditions etc.
Orders
Can I make changes to my order before it ships?
Unfortunately, we are unable to make changes, including cancellations to orders after they have been placed.
How long will it take for my order to arrive?
Any orders received outside our opening times will be shipped next working day.
We use domestic carriers and aim to have goods at your doorstep within 3 working days. However, delivery times are often shorter.
Whatever is on our website is in stock, but sometimes delays are outside of our control. We ask in advance for your understanding.
How do I track my order?
You will receive an email with a tracking number once your order is dispatched.
It’s been 5 days, and my order has still not arrived.
Please check the tracking number with your carrier, first. If you have not received a tracking number, please contact us immediately.
